Possoms Teapot

Good afternoon, it's another challenge over at CRAFT Challenge again and this week's sponsors are

       Colour of Love

For this project, the theme was Not A Card.  As  I also make junk journals, I decided to make a lovely journal card.  I love turning essentially junk items into something pretty.  I used a tag that came with a pet toy, I keep all sorts of things, you would be amazed once you join the junk journal world, the possibilities are endless so you end up keeping all sorts of stuff.

I firstly backed the store tag with some coffee dyed paper, I make this in batches and it smells lovely ! I used a ordinary glue stick to adhere the coffee paper to the store tag for some nice writing space.

On the front of tag, I printed out the lovely image from Colour of Love, the possoms are adorable aren't they? I loved colouring this little image.  I then inked the background and inked the edges.

I simply adhered the topper to the front of the store tag and left the colours of the tag as they went really well with topper. Put the eyelet in and ribbon and added some decorative lace and a bow and some ribbon trim.

All in all a pretty little journal card made from what would have been thrown away.

I hope you can take a look around and see what things could be used to make pretty tags and journal cards. It's a great way to stretch your creativity.

Egg Painting - Easter

Hello crafters, welcome to my corner of blogland.  It's another challenge again over at CRAFT Challenge, Easter / Spring theme and this week the sponsor is

All Dressed Up

The prize is 2 images.

So over to this week's project.  I decided to make a cute rocker card using the Egg Painting digi stamp as a central topper.   I  just love how sweet this digi stamp is, isn't she adorable. I also love bunnies.   I coloured this with a combination of Derwent pencils and Polychromos in a pastel, soft spring colours.  The topper was finished using sparkle pens and some stickles around the edge. When I colour my digi stamps, I print them out onto smooth cardstock and then build up layers very lightly using very soft circle movements to get a nice blend.  Sometimes I blend over the top with a white pencil or a specifically designed colourless blender tool.  You can mix colours on the paper directly to get subtle hues and tones.  I tend to do 3 tones per colour to get some depth into the image to avoid it becoming flat.  To achieve real realism it can take many hours of work however on my cards, I don't spend that long to get a nice result, as long as there is a bit of variation in tones it can have a nice effect.

I finished the card with some paper flowers, added some shimmer, stamped the sentiment and fussy cut the stamped tag out.

I would like to enter the following Challenges

Polkadoodles - Snowdrift Friends Tag

Hello crafters, today I am sharing a lovely little gift tag made for our new challenge over on C.R.A.F.T Challenge #712. This weeks sponsors are

The prize is : 3 Images

So why don't you pop along and have a peek.

So back to my tag, as I make journals, I thought I would do a tag to go into my Christmas themed journal or perhaps I might just keep it for a lovely tag for a gift.

This tag measures 6.5 inches x 3 inches cut from linen cardstock and puched a hole for the ribbon.

I printed off the Snowdrift Friends image and watercoloured the images with my Faber Castell watercolour pencils then trimmed it to make a focal topper.  Added some hessian ribbon and bow  and a sentiment.  It's been finished with shimmer and stickles clear glitter.

I probably will make a few of these for my stash as they are very quick and easy to make.  You can also print the image different sizes for bigger or smaller projects.

Spring Chic - The Country Diary Of An Edwardian Lady Spring Flowers

Good Afternoon, today I'm sharing with you a card I made for the challenge over at Ally's Angels, as always the theme is anything goes.

So back to my card, I opted for some beautiful digital papers downloaded at Craftworld, these are from a boxed magazine kit featuring the delightful CDEL, stamps, dies and embossing folder. This is on my wish list as I adore Edith Holden.  I have 3 copies of the Country Diary of Edwardian Lady book.

I printed 3 digital papers out, stitched around them and added some lace trims.  I fussy cut out a little bee from the embellishment paper set.  I used Kraft Card for a little country chic effect. I added shimmer to the petals and a little fussy cut bee.

The dogwood rose featured on these papers is native to our beautiful English countryside here in the UK.  It has a gorgeous scent and bees and insects adore it. It produces lovely rosehips as well.

The book

I also junk journal and have made a number of beautiful emphera pieces for my journals with altered book pages.  It's just a beautiful book.

The magazine - no affiliated links this is just a lovely magazine

April Showers

 Good Morning Everyone

A new week a new challenge over on

C.R.A.F.T Challenge

This week's sponsor is

 Jan's Digital Stamp Shop

So for this project I used the April Showers digi stamps.

This is such a cute digi stamp.  Firstly used a LOTV digi watercolour background stamp then added the image on top and printed it out on a 6 x 6 card blank. I then fussy cut the umbrellas to decoupage onto the printed card for some dimension.  I watercoloured the umbrellas with some shimmer pastel watercolour paint from a set I picked up in Hobby Craft a couple of years ago, they are so delicate and shimmery perfect for adding a touch of sparkle to a project.  The colours are very rich I am quite impressed with this set.  I finished it off with the sentiment.
